I announced in February that I am seeking election for the position of Mayor for the City of Redmond. The people of Redmond expect responsive, open government, which works in partnership with all citizens and businesses and the Puget Sound region. Under my leadership, Redmond city government will deliver just that. My priorities for the next four years are as follows:
Community: Coming Home to Redmond - Redmond must continue doing its part in providing a safe and livable community for all its citizens.
Open Government: I am a strong advocate of open government and accountability. Our decisions need to be made in the open and subject to full public scrutiny.
Balance: Businesses and the residential communities are dependent upon each other for their sustainability and quality of life.
Hartman Park Aquatic Center: Teaching both kids and adults to swim is one of my personal top priorities. The Hartman Park Pool needs basic repair and refurbishment and I will actively work towards a public / private partnership to get that done.
Environment: The nation’s cities are leading the charge in combating climate change. Redmond must do its part to reduce its dependence upon the automobile and foreign oil.
New Beginnings: Redmond has much to be proud of, and I will continue to build upon the solid base of quality city services.
